Police respond to 2 Southside shootings in 15 minutes


RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police were called to two separate shootings on the city’s Southside in a span of 15 minutes.

A 44-year-old man is fighting for his life, after he was shot at a home at Navorone and Atlantic Avenues. Officers learned about the shooting when the victim showed up at the hospital with critical injuries at 9:00 p.m. Thursday. At this time, there’s no information about the shooter.

Fifteen minutes before that, a 28-year-old man was shot at a motel on Greshamwood Place, near Chippenham Parkway and Midlothian Turnpike. The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. Police are looking for the suspected shooter, 28-year-old Maurice Tyquan Brown. He’s 6’2″ and 180 pounds. He was last seen walking away from the motel, wearing a black t-shirt, dark blue jean shorts with blue boxers underneath, black high top tennis shoes, and white socks. He was carrying a shoebox and a black tablet in his hands.

Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call Richmond Police.
