RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A man with nearly 25 years experience working in public housing across the country will be named the next Chief Executive Officer for Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, a source confirmed to 8News.
The announcement is not expected to be made official until next week, though sources inside City Hall tell 8News that RRHA officials have chosen Damon Duncan as its new leader.
Duncan, who has 24 years of public housing experience in communities across the U.S., currently serves as CEO of the Housing Authority in Elgin, Illinois — a position he’s held since January 2012.
According to his bio on the Housing Authority of Elgin’s website, Mr. Duncan also holds numerous public and affordable housing certifications and distinctions.
Duncan will take over for Orlando Artze, who has served as RRHA’s interim director since January 2018.
Duncan is expected to be officially introduced next Wednesday.
