DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A teen has died following a multi-vehicle crash, that also sent four others to the hospital, in Dinwiddie County on Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred on Route 460 westbound at Courthouse Road at around 10:40 a.m.

According to Virginia State Police, a Honda Civic was attempting to cross Route 460 from northbound Courthouse Road when they were struck by a Lexus sedan traveling westbound on Rte. 460.

Both vehicles spun as a result of the crash, with the Lexus spinning around to face east and the Civic spinning around, striking a light pole on its passenger side.

A driver and two passengers who were inside the Lexus were rushed to an area hospital via ambulance with serious injuries.

The driver and one passenger, both 16-years-old, who were in the Civic were both flown to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries on Tuesday.

The passenger of the Civic, identified as 16-year-old John W. D. Reid, was pronounced dead at VCU Medical Center, according to State Police.

State Police says it is believed that all the people involved in the crash were not wearing seatbelts.

Charges are pending, Virginia State Police said, as an investigation into the crash is underway.

A GoFundMe page has been organized for Reid. You can find it here.
