Fundraiser set for Hopewell Moose Lodge after massive fire

HOPEWELL, Va (WRIC) — Two weeks after the massive fire that destroyed The Moose Lodge, the owners are looking to the future with hopes of rebuilding.

Flames from the blaze reached over 30 feet in the air, leaving behind just a shell of the building.

With hopes of raising funds to rebuild, there will be a Hopewell Moose Charity event with a concert on Friday.

“We’re looking for some temporary property now so that we can get back to doing those things that we’ve done in the past,” said Brian Carpenter, Hopewell Moose Lodge Governor. “Maybe not at the magnitude which we have but we definitely want to be there for the community yet again.”

The concert will feature performances by The Deloreans and serve as a kickoff to St. Patricks Day weekend.

This is happening at The Old Towne Civic Center in Petersburg.

Tickets are $15 with all proceeds going to the fire recovery fund.
