Police: Man shot in the buttocks drives to Petersburg hospital for treatment

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities in Petersburg are investigating a shooting on Monday after learning that the victim drove their own car to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Petersburg Police believe the shooting took place in the area of St. Mark Street and Chestnut Street, a release said. 

The victim, identified only as an adult male, was struck in the buttocks and is expected to survive, police said. 

There is no suspect information at this time.
