PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Petersburg Fire crews battled heavy flames at a vacant home Monday night.

Shortly after 9 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of E. Fillmore Street.

Petersburg Fire Chief Dennis Rubin told 8News that when crews arrived, the house was well involved in fire. All city companies responded to quickly bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The same house was involved in a fire back in October 2017.

Rubin says the building was heavily damaged in the previous fire; therefore, no additional fire loss damage is currently being assigned.
