Tunnel to Towers 5K honors fallen firefighter Lt. Brad Clark

Local News

HANOVER COUNTY, Va., (WRIC) — Hundreds laced up their sneakers for the inaugural Tunnel to Towers 5K run and walk in Mechanicsville Saturday morning.

Families along with members of the military, law enforcement, and first responders stopped by Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville to honor the late Lt. Brad Clark who was killed in the line of duty in October.

The race also honored Hopewell firefighters who responded to the Moose Lodge fire in February.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was established after 9/11 to remember fallen New York City firefighter Stephen Siller.

“He did everything and everybody loved him,” said Tunnel to Towers Richmond race director Matt Howell.  “And to see so many people come out, run, walk and just remember Brad and remember everyone else is a feeling I can’t describe. It’s incredible.”

The money raised from the 5K will benefit the family members of fallen firefighters and first responders through the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
