RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A vacant house fire on Richmond’s North Side spread and damaged the house next door, displacing a family of three early Wednesday morning.
Richmond Fire crews were called to the 2100 block of Miller Avenue at around 4:10 a.m. for reports of a house fire.
The fire originally started at a vacant house on the street and eventually spread to the home next door. A family of three, two adults and one child, living in the house next door made it out safely as the fire spread to their home, Richmond Fire officials told 8News.
8News was at the scene on Wednesday as more than 40 firefighters worked on putting the fire out.
Extensive damage has been done to the home, including a collapsed roof and shattered windows. The family has been displaced from their home until repairs can be completed.
