CHARLES CITY, Va. (WRIC) — A manufacturing warehouse in Charles City County at Roxbury Industrial Center will be closing, with about 70 employees affected, according to Home Depot corporate officials.
Stephen Holmes, Director of Corporate Communications at the Home Depot, released the following statement Monday morning regarding the closing:
“We notified associates on Thursday that we have made the decision to close our Charles City cabinet re-facing plant. As discussed, we had made several investments in the facility to keep it going and explored several other options to keep the plant open, including selling the facility. Those were unsuccessful so the plant will close at the end of January. There are about 70 associates at the facility. Our HR team has been on site to help associates explore other positions at stores or other operations within the company, such as our distribution centers. Associates we are unable to place elsewhere with the company will be provided enhanced severance packages with additional other support.”
