Missing Brunswick man with Alzheimer’s found safe


BRUNSWICK CO., Va. (WRIC) — The 79-year-old Brunswick County man who went missing early Sunday morning has been found safe.

According to Brunswick County’s Sheriff’s Office, Francis Cleaton was found roughly three-quarters of a mile behind his house in the woods.

“He was alert and doing well,” according to a Brunswick County deputy, and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for observation.

Cleaton was reported missing from his home at 608 Indian Creek Road in Freeman early Sunday morning by members of his family. He was last seen inside the residence hours before at 12:30 a.m.
