A cardiologist who allegedly owes more than $4.2 million in unpaid child support has been named the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Inspector General’s ‘Most Wanted Deadbeat.’
David Lawrence Adams, who worked in Florida as a cardiologist, was ordered to pay $2,500 in 1994 for his two children, whose custodial parent resided in New York, according to authorities.
Investigators believe he fled to Israel to avoid paying child support. A warrant for his arrest was issued in August 2008.
Adams may visit Florida periodically to continue his medical practice, according to investigators.
