TENNESSEE (CNN) – A 19-year-old with an aggressive form of muscular dystrophy fulfilled his dream of graduating high school on Wednesday.
Dakota Johnson had attended school from home since 7th grade. But he told his teacher he wanted to be part of the graduation ceremony for his senior year.
Sadly, right before his graduation, he was admitted to hospital with heart failure. So his school ended up bringing graduation to him.
Johnson donned a cap and gown in his hospital bed and posed for pictures with family and friends.
His grandmother says she believes it was the happiest day of his life.
Two days later, on Friday, Johnson passed away.
