CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — There were no reported injuries after a plane made an emergency landing at the Chesterfield County Airport on Friday afternoon.
8News at the scene witnessed multiple fire trucks and at least one ambulance in the area.
8News was given little information when trying to speak to the employees at the airport but was told that no one was hurt.
Chesterfield Fire confirmed that crews were sent to 7511 Airfield Drive for reports of an aircraft emergency at 3:47 p.m. According to Chesterfield Fire, the pilot of the twin-engine jet reported an in-flight emergency due to a fire in the right engine.
The aircraft was landed without incident by the pilot and co-pilot and fire and EMS resources found no fire in the engine.
Chesterfield Fire marked the scene under control 22 minutes after responding to the airport.
