El gobernador de Virginia, Ralph Northam, ofrecerá una conferencia de prensa el miércoles por la tarde después de endurecer las restricciones al coronavirus en el Commonwealth la semana pasada.
Durante sus últimas conferencias de prensa, el gobernador expresó su preocupación por el aumento de casos de COVID-19 debido a pequeñas reuniones en el suroeste de Virginia. La oficina de Northam dijo que los casos en Virginia son comparativamente bajos, pero las pruebas positivas y las hospitalizaciones están aumentando en los cinco distritos de salud.
Pfizer anunció más resultados en su estudio en curso sobre la vacuna contra el coronavirus que sugiere que las inyecciones tienen una efectividad del 95%.
La compañía dice que la vacuna parece proteger a las personas mayores con mayor riesgo de morir por COVID-19.
