Patrick Henry High School deemed safe after reported bomb threat


ASHLAND, Va. (WRIC) — Patrick Henry High School was evacuated Thursday afternoon after a bomb threat was reported to school administration.

As a precaution, students and staff were evacuated to the football stadium while members of the Sheriff’s Office conduct a safety sweep of the building.

According to a release from the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, nothing suspicious was found and students were allowed to re-enter the building.

Principal Beth Smith issued the following statement after the threat was reported:

“The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we appreciate your patience as we work with our law enforcement partners to resolve this situation as quickly as possible.”
