A toothache can be common with humans, but turns out polar bears can get them too.
Boris is an aging polar bear at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington, and is recovering after having a large tooth pulled.
The bear went through a three-hour procedure to remove the fractured and abscessed canine tooth. Boris was then placed on a strict diet of soft foods after getting the painful tooth removed.
The dentist isn’t an unfamiliar place for Boris either. The polar bear is one of the oldest in captivity at the age of 29-years-old and has already had a few root canals, according to ABC News affiliate KOMO-TV in Seattle.
KOMO-TV also says Boris has been a resident at the zoo since 2002.
