Police: Vehicle strikes several children at Florida bus stop

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A vehicle struck several children who were waiting for their school bus to arrive Thursday morning in Tampa, Florida. 

The crash happened at around 8:10 a.m. at 16th Street and Bougainvillea Avenue in Tampa.

The driver stayed at the scene and was interviewed by police.

A Tampa Police Department spokesperson said multiple children were transported to local hospitals.

Specific details regarding the number of children who were hit and their injuries have not been released.

A Tampa Fire Rescue truck that was responding to the crash was also involved in a nearby crash.
