RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond will get its first visit from a 2020 presidential candidate on Tuesday.

Former Texas Representative Beto O’Rourke is scheduled to appear at the Hilton on W. Broad St. in Short Pump at 4:30 p.m.

A source with the campaign tells 8News O’Rourke will be visiting a number of cities in the Commonwealth on Tuesday and Wednesday. With nearly 20 Democratic primary contenders, this is expected to be the first of many visits this election cycle.

A member of O’Rourke’s campaign says the candidate will host meet and greets, town halls and other events in Norfolk, Hampton, Williamsburg, Henrico, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Alexandria, as well as Prince William and Fairfax Counties.

We are still learning more details about the events and where they will be held.
