RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Anwar “Wawa” Phillips, the man charged with shooting four people — two of them fatally — in Richmond’s southside last year pleaded guilty to two counts of murder and one count of malicious wounding on Tuesday.
Phillips will serve a total of 45 years in prison for the three charges.
Phillips was taken into custody last November following in a triple shooting at Blue Ridge Apartments that left 49-year-old Frank A. McCray dead and two other victims — an adult male and a juvenile girl under the age of 10 — wounded.
He was also charged with murdering 30-year-old Rolando D. Salas the a week prior in the 1400 block of Talbert Drive.
