RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority is partnering with The Micheals Organization to rehabilitate 11 units.

The Micheals Organization is a developer experienced in affordable housing and mixed communities. Through this partnership, the RRHA plans to fix eleven properties, totaling 553 units.

“The agency is very proud to be able to move this work forward,” RRHA President and CEO Damon E. Duncan said. “Our goals for a transformative affordable housing community within the City of Richmond is well underway.”

This will be done through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Rental Assistance Demonstration Program.

The construction timeline has not been finalized, but current plans feature a phased approach. What needs to be done for each property will vary.

Through the ‘RAD’ program, any residents temporarily relocated because of construction needs will be guaranteed to return to their unit after the project is completed.
