Several high school students struck by car while waiting for bus in Maryland

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WRIC) — Authorities say multiple students in Maryland were struck by a car at a bus stop Tuesday morning.

The Montgomery County Police Department told WJLA a white Volkswagen hit a blue Ford then struck four Kennedy High School students who were waiting for their bus. This happened in front of Rita’s Italian Ice at Wendy Lane and Georgia Avenue.

All four students were taken to the hospital — one with serious injuries and the other three with not as serious injuries — but their conditions vary, police say. The man driving the Volkswagen was also taken to the hospital with not as serious injuries.

A Montgomery County school bus showed up shortly after the crash and guarded the children in the area, police say.
