NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Newport News Police are looking for whoever fired gunshots at their Police Headquarters on Jefferson Avenue early Tuesday morning.
According to a news release from Newport News Police, someone fired several gunshots at the Police Headquarters building at 9710 Jefferson Avenue around 2:38 a.m.
Police say there was staff inside the building at the time but no one was injured by the gunfire.
Several windows in the main building were damaged along with some windows in the Property and Evidence building nearby.
Investigators are canvassing the area for evidence and say there are surveillance cameras on the outside of the building.
