Suspect arrested in Shockoe Bottom nightclub triple shooting

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Three people were wounded in a shooting at Plush nightclub in Shockoe Bottom early Wednesday morning. 

A witness tells 8News he heard about five shots fired at the club around 2:00 a.m. He saw a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound, and a second female victim being taken to an ambulance on a gurney. 

Richmond Police have identified the shooter as 25-year-old Darroll G. Allen of Chesterfield County. He’s been charged with felony malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Additional charges pending.

Police confirmed to 8News that there were three victims, and that one of them was an employee of the club.

All three None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

The owner of Plush told 8News a security guard threw out a patron early Wednesday morning. That patron then came back to the club and started firing, hitting the security guard.

The security guard stumbled back into the club for security reasons before the shooter ran off, according to the club owner.

Raw video sent to 8News from the scene shows the security guard lying on the floor with a gunshot wound.

The owner tells 8News the shooter was captured at a nearby Exxon gas station.
