Repairs underway at Colonial Heights apartment complex after 8News investigation

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) — 8News has learned repairs are well underway at a Colonial Heights apartment complex after our investigation exposed major maintenance issues.

8News has also learned not only are repairs happening at the Newcastle Apartments, but the complex is also under new management. We’ve been told the old management company, KRS Holding, Inc. abruptly left last week.

The building’s owner and the new property manager have been working hard to make the needed repairs. A new heating system has been put in, they’re getting the electrical issues figured out and they plan to fix the deep potholes that were causing the driveway to flood every time it rains. We’re told that could happen as early as next week.

The property manager did a walk through with the Colonial Heights building inspector, Bernie Murrell, who has since confirmed the issues are being taken care of.

Tenants also tell 8News they are seeing some positive changes.
