The show must go on: Hanover’s Sound Festival brings the fun despite no sun

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (WRIC) — In the showbiz world, you often hear the show must go on. Saturday was no different for Hanover’s Sounds Festival.

The event was moved indoors as a result of Mother Nature. So the once outdoor festival was hosted inside when everyone could keep dry at Hanover High School.

The Richmond Symphony performed along with the Remnants Rock-N-Soul and other groups as well.

The festival featured a Kids Zone along with a petting zoo.

“It has been a great day even though Mother Nature kept us out of the park we were able to enjoy some amazing music from a variety of groups here,” said Marcy Durrer, of Hanover County Parks and Recreation. “We’ve had some vendors..some crafts for the kids and a great pre-Mother’s Day celebration.”

The festival wrapped up Saturday evening as the rain died down.

8News’ chief meteorologist John Bernier acted as the emcee.
