RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The top-seeded VCU Rams and No. 11 seed Richmond Spiders are preparing for the A-10 Tournament this week.
As all of the teams arrive on Tuesday, the Spiders prepare to play on Wednesday when they face Fordham.
After dropping to Davidson over the weekend, Head Coach Chris Mooney says that the team is playing with a chip on their shoulder.
“We just kind of see where we are and how we kind of finished the season off,” Coach Mooney said. “That’s not the way we wanted to finish it, so I think we’re kind of hungry and ready to get back at it.”
As for the top-seeded VCU Rams, their opponent is yet to be determined. VCU will play the winner of Thursday’s game when No. 8 Rhode Island plays No. 9 La Salle.
Coach Rhoades says he challenges his guys to be better each day.
“My dad used to say to me all the time, I just want your best every day. Why can’t we challenge our players to do that? You’re gonna make some mistakes, but that’s what I’ve been demanding from these guys and they’ve been ringing the bell.
