Richmond, Va. (WRIC) — A University of Richmond student is one of the top five finalists for a study abroad film festival.

Sociology student Thamine Nayeem is a finalist in this year’s IES Abroad Film Festival for her work, ‘I Choose Openness.’

The film shows how studying abroad in Rabat, Morocco, influenced Nayeem’s worldview.

The winner of the film festival receives a $1,500 grand prize. He or she will also be able to screen their film at the IESAbroad Annual Conference in Chicago in October.

Voting for the contest ends at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Votes can be submitted through the group’s Facebook page.
