RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Cavaliers will face a familiar foe, the Purdue Boilermakers, in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge this season, it was announced Thursday.
The two schools met in the Elite Eight of this March’s NCAA tournament, with Virginia tying the game at the end of regulation on Mamadi Diakite’s jumper. The Cavaliers went on to win in overtime, 80-75, on their way to the school’s first men’s basketball national championship.
The rematch will be held at Purdue on Wednesday, December 4.
