UVA’s De’Andre Hunter declares for NBA draft

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia forward De’Andre Hunter announced his intentions to declare for the 2019 NBA draft on Instagram Monday.

Hunter, who is projected to be a lottery pick in this year’s draft, helped UVA win its first national championship as a sophomore.

The 6-foot-7 forward from Philadelphia averaged 15.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Cavaliers. Hunter’s decision came not long after his teammate, Ty Jerome, said he plans to be available for the NBA draft.

The draft will air on June 20.
