BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A 7-year-old boy is recovering after being run over by an excavator in Dillwyn, according to a Buckingham County emergency manager.

Cody Davis says emergency crews responded to the 8600 block of Andersonville Road just after 1 p.m. following a machinery accident involving a minor.

Davis said the child came in contact with a small excavator. The child was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

“There were no extensive injuries that were clearly visible,” Davis added. No foul play is suspected.

Buckingham Co. Fire & Rescue, Buckingham Co. Sheriff’s Office and Dillwyn Volunteer Fire Department all responded.
