LYNCHBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Lynchburg Regional Airport representatives say an aircraft associated with Liberty University made a crash landing on Thursday.
The university told WSET a Cessna 172 Skyhawk airplane was taking off around 11 a.m. when it ran into “some sort of problem.”
A student and flight instructor, who is an employee and graduate of Liberty University, were on the plane. No injuries were reported.
According to WSET, the pilot radioed the tower and was able to put the plane down, but ran off the runway.
The NTSB and the FAA are continuing to investigate the incident.
