Strong winds, heavy rainfall doing damage in Central Virginia

(WRIC) — Heavy rainfall and storms in Central Virginia on Monday caused damage to homes and dropped trees throughout the area. 

A tree in North Chesterfield near Kingsland Road fell over on Monday.

Strong winds reportedly dropped the tree around 7:30 p.m. tonight. 

Chesterfield Fire also responded to a vehicle caught in flood water on Monday. According to Chesterfield Fire, a pair of divers responded to Ware Bottom Spring Road. 

A driver was standing on top of his car after being stranded in about four and a half feet of water. The divers found the driver and brought him to safety without injury.
