RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Although the winning Mega Millions jackpot ticket was not bought in Virginia, the Commonwealth still had two $1 million winners.
There was also one ticket that won $30,000, and 13 tickets that each won $10,000.
Lottery officials say the $30,000 ticket would have won $10,000, except that whoever bought it spent an extra dollar for the Megaplier, which tripled the prize.

More than 451,000 Mega Millions tickets bought in Virginia won prizes in Tuesday night’s drawing, according to lottery officials.
The jackpot numbers were: 28, 70, 5, 62, 65, with a Mega Ball of 5.
While most attention has been on the Mega Millions game, Powerball also has been soaring. The estimated prize for Powerball’s annuity option in Wednesday night’s drawing is $620 million, with a cash prize of $354.3 million.
