VSP investigating single-engine airplane crash in Winchester

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — An investigation is underway after a small plane crashed in Frederick County.

Virginia State Police say yesterday just before noon, a single-engine aircraft was attempting to land at the Winchester Regional Airport when it hit an aircraft hangar.

The pilot, a 49-year-old woman from Front Royal, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. No one on the ground was injured.

VSP Says both the FAA and the NTSB have been notified.
