Virginia’s Juan Thornhill selected 63rd in NFL Draft

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Kansas City Chiefs shored up their secondary in the NFL Draft, selecting Virginia safety Juan Thornhill in the second round with the 63rd overall pick on Friday.

Thornhill had 13 interceptions in his career in Charlottesville and picked off six passes last season.

The Chiefs, who lost to the New England Patriots in AFC Championship game, gave up the second-most passing yards in the league last year, so Thornhill fills a clear need.
