WAYNESBORO, Va. (AP) — A Virginia man is accused of biting three police officers and an emergency first responder after attempting to rob a pizzeria.

News outlets report 39-year-old Aaron Hernando Talifarro Holder is charged with armed robbery and multiple counts of malicious wounding of law enforcement officers. A Waynesboro Police Department release says officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery at knifepoint at about 11 p.m. Sunday. It says Holder fled and was quickly caught.

The release says Holder violently resisted officers while in custody and bit several of them. It says he also kicked out the rear window of a transportation vehicle and began eating the broken glass. Holder and the officers were treated at a hospital.

The newspaper doesn’t say if Holder has a lawyer.
