RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Last Saturday was a big step in the comeback for Virginia Union sophomore guard Shameka McNeill. This was McNeill’s first action on the court since she tore her ACL in the CIAA title game last march, a span of 9 and a half months.

“Well really i didn’t know it was torn until the next day. i still played on it. i just knew it was swolen. oh i have to go get this checked out,” McNeill says.

Playing on that torn acl gave McNeill a lot of confidence and drive to make a comeback.
With a lot of encouragement not only personally but from teammates, family and friends, she is back to help the panthers win their second straight CIAA title.
