WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Brittany Lang grew up in Richmond and later moved to Texas, but despite not calling Virginia home for many years she always remembers the good memories.

“This is where I first picked up a club in Richmond,” said Lang. “Had my first hole in one and played my first round. It’s cool to hear the stories from my friends and they remember when I was 8, 9 and 10…first playing at brandermill country club.”

Lang, who is playing in the Pure Silk Championship at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, says the support she gets while returning to Virginia is always appreciated.

“We have a ton of friends here and they always come up and support me,” adds Lang. “t’s always a lot of fun for us.”

The Pure Silk Championship is the final LPGA Tour event before next week’s U.S. Women’s Open in Charleston, SC.

Lang won the U.S. Women’s Open in 2016 and says she feels good entering this week’s tournament.

“My mind has been focusing well lately,” said Lang. “Just waiting for my short game to heat up. I’ve been working on it so i hope to have a good week.”

The Pure Silk Championship is Thursday through Sunday.
