Friday’s forecast brings changes to high school football schedule

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — With rain in the forecast for much of the day Friday, many area schools are adjusting their high school football schedules.

The StormTracker 8 team is forecasting light rain Friday morning that will turn steady into the afternoon and evening hours. 

As a result, many of this week’s games have been pushed up to Thursday:

Matoaca at Petersburg at 7 p.m.
George Wythe at Manchester at 7 p.m.
Meadowbrook at Hopewell at 7 p.m.
Midlothian at James River at 7 p.m.
Huguenot at Monacan at 7 p.m.
Bird at Cosby, 7:30 p.m. (homecoming parade before game)
Dinwiddie at Colonial Heights, 7 p.m.

Other games will be played on Saturday:

Highland Springs at Varina, 3 p.m.
Deep Run at Godwin Mills, 7 p.m.

Prince George at Thomas Dale is still on for 7 p.m. Friday but will be postponed to Saturday if weather permits.
