ASHLAND, Va. (WRIC) — Entering the 2019 season Randolph-Macon men’s lacrosse had only achieved double-digit wins three times throughout their history.
Now that number is four.
By defeating Shenandoah on April 13 the Yellow Jackets reached 11 wins on the season to establish a new program record.
“The last couple recruiting classes we’ve had have been great,” said head coach J.B. Sheridan. “Also we were able to hire a full-time assistant four years ago and Mike Sullinger has been here four years.”
Coming off 10 victories in 2018, R-MC has already built on last year’s win total with 3 more games left in the regular season.
“I’m really happy for our seniors and the guys that have been in this program,” said Sheridan. “When they got here were really committed to helping us improve.”
“We had a freshman the other say none of us want to be ordinary, we all want to be different,” said junior attacker and Ashland native Colin DiSesa. “Let’s go out there and be different. I think it’s everyone buying in together and trying to be something different.”
