VCU earns NCAA Tournament at-large bid as No. 8 seed

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — For the 17th time in program history VCU is heading to the NCAA Tournament.

The Rams earned an at-large bid as the No. 8 seed and will play No. 9 UCF on Friday in Columbia, SC. Game time is scheduled for 9:40 p.m.

“It’s not just a dream come true for our players to play in the NCA Tournament,” said head coach Mike Rhoades. “As head coach it’s a dream of mine, a dream of our staff. I’m just super excited for everyone associated with our program.”

VCU heads into the NCAA Tournament with 12 wins in their last 13 games.

UCF lost in the American Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals and are 23-8 on the season.
