HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that left two men injured.
The crash happened Wednesday morning on I-95 near Chamberlayne Avenue around 8 a.m. VSP said their preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford Mustang was traveling on I-95 north when it ran off the road to the left and struck the median guardrail. The Mustang went over the guardrail and into the southbound lanes of I-95 and struck a Nissan Rogue.
Thomas E. Dodd III of Fredericksburg was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Nissan Rogue, a 50-year-old Mechanicsville man, was also taken to the hospital.
Dodd III was charged with reckless driving; failure to maintain control.
The investigation is ongoing.
