Chain-reaction crash involving 5 cars caused slowdowns on I-95 N in Richmond near Franklin Street exit


RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Drivers experienced delays during their morning commute on I-95 north in Richmond.

Virginia State Police said they responded to the multi-vehicle accident near the Franklin Street exit around 6:40 a.m.

State police said their investigation revealed that one car rear-ended another pushing that vehicle into the vehicle ahead. Another vehicle rear-ended the first vehicle pushing that vehicle forward until a total of five vehicles were affected, VSP said.

No injuries have been reported. Two drivers were charged with following too closely, police said.
