Portion of Richmond-Henrico Turnpike closed for a month due to repairs

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A portion of Richmond-Henrico Turnpike/Meadowbridge Road will be closed for more than a month due to repairs.

Meadowbridge Road will be closed at the Henrico/Hanover county line beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, February 18. The Henrico County Department of Public Works expects the section of road to be closed through Sunday, March 18.

Officials say the portion of road that needs repairs suffered extensive damage when Tropical Storm Michael impacted the area last October.

Northbound traffic will be detoured from Richmond-Henrico onto Azalea Avenue, Carolina Avenue and East Laburnum Avenue to Mechanicsville Turnpike, which connects to Meadowbridge via Atlee Road. Southbound traffic will be detoured from Meadowbridge onto Atlee.
