Car overturns and catches fire on I-95 in Henrico Thursday afternoon

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A vehicle flipped over and caught on fire on I-95 in Henrico County Thursday afternoon, according to Virginia State Police.

VSP said troopers responded to the crash just before 1 p.m. on June 3, on I-95 north near the Parham Road exit.

State police said a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer headed north on the interstate tried to move from the left lane to the center lane, but went back to avoid another vehicle. VSP said the Trailblazer then ran off the road into the median, struck the guardrail and overturned.

The car caught on fire, but state police said the two occupants managed to safely escape.  Both of them were wearing seatbelts and did not report any injuries to troopers.

The driver, Angelina M. Davis, 35, of Ruther Glen, was charged with reckless driving failure to maintain control.
