UPDATE: According to VDOT, all lanes have reopened and the scene is clear.
NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A vehicle fire on Interstate 64 in New Kent County is causing backups, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
All eastbound lanes are closed near Eltham Road due to the vehicle fire. VDOT says there are currently three miles of backups in the area.
Drivers are urged to plan alternate routes, if available.
