HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A large vehicle fire on I-95 south caused significant delays for motorists in the Hanover County area.

The vehicle fire was at mile marker 90.2 near the Hanover Ashland exit but has since been removed.
The south center lane, right lane and right shoulder were all closed as a result. They have since been reopened and traffic has returned to normal.
Traffic backups were approximately 4.5 miles long. There were also traffic backups on I-95 north approximately 3 miles long.
The return to normal traffic speed was hindered by a crash on I-95 north near mile marker 89.
This crash was also cleared around 11:00 a.m. and traffic has since returned to normal.
