The Henrico County Police Division is currently investigating after a high school student was stabbed at her bus stop in the county's west end this morning.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, officers were called to the intersection of Fairlake Lane and Fairlake Court for a reported suspicious situation.
According to police, officers were notified while en route that a juvenile had been stabbed at a bus stop.
Upon their arrival, officers found a teenage girl -- identified as a student of J.R. Tucker High School -- with an apparent stab wound. She was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"While students were waiting for the bus at Fairlake Lane and Fairlake Court, a person with a knife approached the stop, cutting one student before running away," J.R. Tucker High School Principal, Art Raymont, said in a notice to families.

A local business owner is thanking his lucky stars and commending local first responders after a car erupted in flames just across the street from his gym.
Brandon Garner, owner of RVA Iron Gym and RVA Iron Gym Chester, caught it all on tape from the gym's security camera footage.
"Last night a car caught fire just a few yards away from our gym at the RVA Iron Chester location," Garner said when posting the video on Instagram. "We’re very lucky nobody was hurt and the gym wasn’t damaged."
A shocking scuffle broke out at Bookbinder’s Seafood & Steakhouse in Shockoe Bottom. The whole thing was caught on video.
The incident occurred during the dinner rush after 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11. Security camera footage shows three men entering the restaurant, heading straight to the bar and attacking an employee as he was serving food.
The owner of the restaurant, John Taxin, told 8News he believes the fight started over a girl and social media. He said the three men had arrived out of retaliation.
