RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) –Fair skies and pleasant overnight lows are on the way for us tonight in Central Virginia as the temperatures fall into the lower to middle 60s.
Thursday will start off with sunny skies over the area. However, by later in the afternoon we are going to see some cloudiness pop up over us. Right now, it looks like any showers than could pop up would be located out over the mountains. You will notice a touch more in the way of humidity over the area with highs in the middle 80s.
Friday, weather conditions will start to deteriorate by later in the afternoon and into the evening hours. A weak storm system will develop down to the south of us over the Carolinas and start moving in our direction.
Clouds will be on the increase through the day and rain could be on the doorstep by the evening hours, depending upon what models you look at.
Rain will here overnight and Saturday morning. Some of the models show a setup that has a resemblance to August 15, 2020, which has the localized flooding event centered up over Chesterfield County.
So, the potential is there for locally heavy rain on Saturday morning, which we will have to keep our eyes on to see how in plays out.
We should get into a break on Saturday afternoon for a while and end up with highs in the lower 80s.
Sunday through the early part of the week will be warm and humid. We will have a boundary over the region so the risk of showers and storms will be there each afternoon and evening hours.
Monday would most likely be the wettest day of the bunch.
