StormTracker 8: Summer-like start to the week

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Skies continue to stay on the clear side as we head overnight. Overnight lows remain on the warmer side, only making it to the upper 60s. High humidity values linger overnight, and we can see some hazy conditions as you step out the door on Monday morning.

Plenty of sunshine is in the forecast as we kick off the workweek. Mostly sunny skies are in the forecast for our Monday, with high temperatures topping out in the low 90s. High humidity values make it feel even warmer through the afternoon.

A boundary slides through during the evening hours adding in extra clouds between 5 and 7 PM. We could also see an isolated storm as this line slides through. Winds can be on the stronger side through the afternoon, becoming somewhat gusty out of the Southwest.

We have relief on Tuesday! It's the pick of the week as high temperatures are back to seasonal averages. Highs are only in the upper 70s through the afternoon with low humidity values. Winds can be brisk, but it will be a comfortable afternoon.

Temperatures are back on the climb for the middle of the week. Highs on Wednesday make it to the lower 80s with abundant sunshine. Humidity values are still on the lower side, so it will feel comfortable through the afternoon. Winds are light, but the heat and humidity of summer are right around the corner.

Extra clouds build in for our Thursday, giving us partly cloudy skies. Extra moisture from a weak system could add in some late day showers and an isolated storm. High temperatures make it to the upper 80s through the afternoon with climbing humidity values.

Friday rounds out the workweek with broken clouds across Central Virginia. Pockets of sunshine will be nice, but temperatures will climb all the way to the 90-degree mark. Humidity values remain on the higher side through the afternoon and it will feel quite hot.

We begin the weekend with little changes in the forecast. Partly to mostly sunny skies are here for Saturday afternoon. Temperatures climb into the upper 80s during the second half the day with high humidity values. Winds are fairly light, and we could see an isolated shower.

Sunday looks very summer-like for the middle of our Memorial Day weekend. Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast with high temperatures near 90 degrees. The heat and humidity are also expected to stick around into Memorial Day with small chances for some showers.
